Common theory questions

Are you allowed to overtake a cyclist at an unsupervised pedestrian crossing?

Usually, you may not overtake any type of vehicles at unsupervised pedestrian crossings, cycle passages or cycle crossings but there are exceptions.

It is allowed if you overtake at low speed and if there is more than one lane in your direction and one of the following requirements is met:

  • There is dense queuing in all lanes.
  • The lanes lead to different destinations.
  • The crossing or passage is at a junction.
