Common theory questions

What does the marking "M+S" on tyres mean?

The marking "M+S" means Mud and Snow.

Winter tyres used in winter road conditions must be marked with M+S and have a tread depth of at least 3 millimetres. To get the best grip, you should replace winter tyres when the tread depth has been worn down to 4-5 millimetres.
