As you approach a level crossing, a warning sign notifies you of the type of level crossing you are approaching.

Usually, there are also three yellow distance signs which indicate the distance to the level crossing in thirds. The distance sign furthest from the level crossing has three red lines and the distance sign closest to the level crossing has one red line.
